Morgan County Youth Development Fund Established to Benefit Young People of Morgan County
Morgan County Foundation Family of Funds Continues to Grow
Nelsonville, OH – Young people in Morgan County should look forward to new and exciting experiences in the arts, education, and recreation. The newly established Morgan County Youth Development Fund will support cultural, artistic, recreational, and educational opportunities for the young people of Morgan County by providing mini-grants.
“We’re excited to welcome the Morgan County Youth Development Fund to our family of funds,” said John Wells, Morgan County Foundation President. “It is so important to invest in the youth of Morgan County, and we welcome this wonderful opportunity for our children.”
The fund was established by the Fairgrounds Junior Golf League (JGL), who for years reached out to engage young people between 8 and 16 years of age in a variety of activities, including the development of leadership skills as well as golf and other sports. Recognizing the need for varied and broader opportunities for the county’s young people, the group elected to establish a fund within the Morgan County Foundation Family of Funds at the Foundation for Appalachian Ohio (FAO).
“We’re really looking forward to our partnership with the Morgan County Foundation and the Foundation for Appalachian Ohio,” said Carlos Keyes, who served as president for the Junior Golf League. “We believe strongly in investing in the youth in our communities, and are looking forward to the opportunities this fund will make possible for our kids.”
The Morgan County Foundation was established to provide support to the communities of and improve the quality of life of the citizens of Morgan County. Gifts to the Morgan County Youth Development Fund are tax deductible and can be made in a number of ways, including cash, bequests, and life insurance.
