Connecting donors to doers
Appalachian Ohio is rich in people who are doing good work in communities across our region. Their gifts of time, talent, vision and love are fueled by donors whose generosity makes FAO’s grants program possible.
Our grants program began in 2001 with the awarding of two grants, totaling $30,000. In 2023, FAO grantmaking surpassed a record-breaking $9.5 million.
FAO awards competitive grants throughout the year and across the region with a focus on advancing opportunities in our five Pillars of Prosperity funding areas: arts and culture, community and economic development, education, environmental stewardship, and health and human services.
