Scholarship Opportunities Begin for
Students Pursuing Post-Secondary Education

Nelsonville, OH As graduation quickly approaches, scholarship season begins again for students seeking to attend post-secondary institutions next fall. To assist students in pursuing higher education, the Southern Perry County Academic Endowment Fund is again accepting scholarship applications. Scholarships are available from donor-established funds within the Academic Fund. Detailed information regarding eligibility and application guidelines, as well as the application, can be found on the fund’s webpage. The deadline for applications is May 1, 2015.

“Education is a powerful resource for our students as well as our community,” said Lynann Bolyard, Southern Perry County Academic Endowment Fund board member. “Our scholarship recipients are the future of Southern Perry through the ways they will make a difference in our community and how they will give back to support the next generations of students.”

The Fund, managed by the Foundation for Appalachian Ohio, offers a variety of scholarships to support students in different areas of study and pursuing varied interests. Students can identify one or multiple scholarships suited to their educational plans.

Community grants are also available during the month of April. These grants can be used to fund educational programs throughout Southern Perry County, which create a positive impact on the community. These grants have been used to fund a variety of programs including historical exhibits and summer camps.

Detailed information on grant opportunities, guidelines, and application forms can be found here. Completed applications and all accompanying materials must be postmarked by May 1, 2015 and mailed to the Foundation’s office at PO Box 456, Nelsonville, OH 45764.
