Appalachian Ohio’s own David Wilhelm to be recognized with iLEAD award

Bricker & Eckler to Receive the
iGIVE Corporate Award

Nelsonville, OH

For four years, the iBELIEVE Foundation has been upholding and inspiring the youth of Appalachian Ohio. The iBELIEVE Foundation Fund, held within the Foundation for Appalachian Ohio, works to make sure Appalachian Ohio’s youth are prepared to become leaders in their schools and, most importantly, in their communities. On April 17, the iBELIEVE Foundation will host its 4th annual Columbus Benefit Dinner at the Jerome Schottenstein Center to support their work with the region’s youth.

iBELIEVE’s goal is to provide students with the leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills they need to be successful. iBELIEVE provides scholarship support to enable high school student participation in the Ohio Association of Student Councils (OASC) summer leadership workshops. Participating in these workshops enables students to identify personal strengths, address their weaknesses, and gain the critical leadership and workforce development skills needed for current and future success. Over the past three years, the iBELIEVE Foundation has helped 100% of the participants graduating from its program, more than 90 students, reach college.

The dinner will be held at 6PM on Friday, April 17 at the Jerome Schottenstein Center in Columbus, and will feature cocktails, dinner, and a silent auction. NBC4’s Colleen Marshall will emcee the celebration of iBELIEVE students and their supporters.

During the evening, guests will hear directly from iBELIEVE students as well as from iBELIEVE Executive Director Patrick Klein and Foundation for Appalachian Ohio (FAO) President and CEO Cara Dingus Brook on iBELIEVE’s successes from the past year, goals for what comes next, news from the Appalachian Ohio region, and the partnership between FAO and iBELIEVE.

This year, iBELIEVE will recognize David Wilhelm with the iLEAD Award and Bricker & Eckler with the iGIVE Corporate Award. David Wilhelm’s career has spanned the worlds of energy, finance, politics, academia, and public policy; in each, he has made a meaningful impact and has always been guided by the idea of doing what he can to help others fulfill their human potential.  More importantly, Wilhelm has dedicated much of his time to the development of the Appalachian region to promote entrepreneurship and business growth. iBELIEVE is recognizing Bricker & Eckler LLP for their ongoing commitment and support to provide Appalachian youth opportunity through their work in their Marietta and Barnesville offices.

“With every passing year, we are gaining new ground and serving more students,” said Patrick Klein, iBELIEVE’s director. “In our first three years, we have provided more than 400 students with life-changing educational experiences and opportunities. We hope many people will join us at our fourth annual dinner to celebrate and support what we can do next.”

Individual tickets and table sponsorships are available. For more information, contact Patrick Klein by calling 614-827-5463 or by emailing pklein@theibelievefoundation.org. You can learn more about iBELIEVE by visiting their website.
