Nelsonville, OH – The Gulfport Energy Fund at the Foundation for Appalachian Ohio (FAO) is pleased to open the year’s second grant round and its first focused on health and human services and environmental stewardship. Applications will be accepted from August 1 until September 19, 2016 from organizations, or for projects, focused on health and human services and environmental stewardship. Nonprofit and public organizations in Belmont, Guernsey, Harrison, Jefferson, Monroe, and Noble counties are eligible to apply. “Gulfport looks forward to opening our initial round of grants that fund projects in the areas of health and human services and environmental stewardship in the communities where we operate,” said Mike Moore, CEO and President of Gulfport Energy Corporation. “This will be an opportunity for us to support other critical needs throughout the six counties within our operating areas, following our spring grant round which focused on supporting education.”

The Gulfport Energy Fund at FAO was created to support nonprofits, schools, and communities in projects that increase quality of life, create access to opportunities, or identify and implement a solution for a community need in the counties where Gulfport Energy operates.

Grant recipients from this year’s first grant round were recently announced. Grant awards supported projects focused on educational opportunities.
