Ohio Connectivity Family of Funds

In 2022, Ohio Transparent Telecom (OhioTT) established the Ohio Connectivity Family of Funds through FAO in both Coshocton and Perry counties as part of its commitment to the rural Ohio communities it serves.

OhioTT led the creation of county-by-county Connectivity Funds that will reduce the digital divide in the markets OhioTT serves through a partnership with FAO. These funds will be accessible to local nonprofits and assist with digital literacy, social isolation, telehealth options, and more.

OhioTT is a Zanesville, Ohio-based broadband provider that partners with local communities in underserved and unserved areas of Ohio to deliver fast, affordable, and reliable internet access. OhioTT started service in August 2021 in Perry County and has since expanded services to Coshocton and Ashtabula counties. For more information, visit https://ohiott.com/.

The Perry County Connectivity Fund, part of the Ohio Connectivity Family of Funds at the Foundation for Appalachian Ohio, will accept grant applications from nonprofit and public organizations for projects that use internet connectivity to improve quality of life in Perry County.

Applications open Tuesday, March 21, 2023 and must be submitted by Tuesday, May 2, 2023 for consideration.

Prospective applicants are encouraged to submit creative and innovative projects that use internet connectivity to improve quality of life across all five of FAO’s Pillar of Prosperity, including Arts & Culture, Community & Economic Development, Education, Environmental Stewardship, and Health and Human Services.

Potential use of funds might include educational programs that advance digital literacy; using technology to reduce social isolation among senior citizens; leveraging telehealth to provide greater access to care; utilizing technology to preserve and share local history; using technology to improve access to the arts or to advance new economic opportunities; and more.

At least $10,000 will be awarded to organizations in each county to address challenges and gaps community members face.
