Ora Eaton Anderson
Through poems, essays, wood carvings and a variety of civic contributions, Anderson led unprecedented collaborations and inspired people from all walks of life to appreciate and care for Appalachian Ohio’s landscape. Over his lifetime, Ora planted tens of thousands of trees, promoted conservation education and pursued his love of nature and the arts as an essayist, artist and advocate.
The Ora E. Anderson Scholarship was established to honor Ora Eaton Anderson, in memory of his lifelong contributions toward the conservation and protection of Appalachian Ohio’s natural environment. Throughout his life, Anderson leveraged the perspective and passion he gained as a young reporter, documenting the development of the region’s forests to create educational environmental experiences for others.
