Newly created fund to support county’s greatest needs and most promising opportunities

JACKSON, Ohio – Adena Health System has committed a total of $25,000 over the next five years to the Jackson County Community Foundation (JCCF), establishing a new fund that will support community-enhancing projects and programs while creating opportunities for local residents.

Funding for the new Adena Health System Fund for Jackson County has been matched dollar-for-dollar through the Foundation for Appalachian Ohio (FAO), resulting in $50,000 that will be invested to meet the county’s greatest needs and most promising opportunities, both today and into the future.

“We are proud to partner with the Jackson County Community Foundation and to invest in the future of Jackson County,” said Robin Berno, director of the Adena Health Foundation. “Seven of the nine counties we serve are located within Appalachian Ohio. Our long-standing commitment to care for the overall health of our communities is what drives our work and mirrors the mission of JCCF and FAO.”

A local FAO affiliate, JCCF was established to give back, inspire pride and promote development in the county today and for future generations. Its endowed fund provides grants annually that benefit residents and communities throughout Jackson County.

“Every gift to the Jackson County Community Foundation allows us to support more opportunities in our communities while building a permanent charitable resource that will ensure our residents and our county thrive for decades to come,” said Susan Stockmeister, JCCF committee member. “We are grateful to Adena Health System for the essential services they provide to our communities and for partnering with us in our mission to build a healthier, more resilient and vibrant future for people in Jackson County.”
