Four Students from Jackson County Receive Post-Secondary Scholarships
Jackson, OH – Bellisio Foods is pleased to announce its 2017 spring scholarship recipients from the Bellisio Foods Scholarship Fund at the Foundation for Appalachian Ohio (FAO). Spring 2017 scholarship recipients include Noah Davis, Peyton Miller, and Riley Patton of Wellston as well as Christopher Penwell of Oak Hill.
The Bellisio Foods Scholarship Fund was established in honor of Bellisio Foods founder, Jeno Paulucci. The Fund awards scholarships to children and grandchildren of Bellisio Foods employees pursuing post-secondary education. Recipients are selected based on character, community service, financial need, and academic performance and potential.
“Our founder, Jeno Paulucci, believed strongly in supporting our young people as they pursue their dreams,” said Joel Conner, and chairman and CEO of Bellisio Foods. “It is our privilege to be able to support our employees’ families as they pursue post-secondary education and the opportunities it provides.”
Noah Davis is a 2017 graduate of Wellston High School in Wellston, Ohio. He is planning to attend the University of Akron this fall to study chemistry with a minor in vocal performance. Noah is the grandson of Jack Thacker, an employee of Bellisio Foods in Jackson.
Peyton Miller is a 2015 graduate of Jackson High School in Jackson, Ohio. She is a rising junior studying international studies and Spanish with a bio-mechanics minor at Marshall University. Peyton is the daughter of Andy Miller, an employee of Bellisio Foods in Jackson.
Riley Patton is a 2016 graduate of Wellston High School in Wellston, Ohio. Riley is currently attending the University of Rio Grande where she is pursuing a degree in radiologic technology and sonography. She is the granddaughter of Pat Reed, an employee of Bellisio Foods in Jackson.
Christopher Penwell is a 2015 graduate of Oak Hill Union High School in Oak Hill, Ohio. Christopher is currently attending Ohio University where he is studying psychology in hopes of pursuing a career in counseling, specializing in inmate and adolescent treatment. He is the son of Roger Penwell, an employee of Bellisio Foods in Jackson.
