U.S. Bancorp Foundation Invests in Appalachian Ohio

$10,000 Grant to the Foundation for Appalachian Ohio

Nelsonville, OH – The U.S. Bancorp Foundation has invested $10,000 in Appalachian Ohio communities and the growth of philanthropy across the region. Through a grant to the Foundation for Appalachian Ohio (FAO), U.S. Bank’s support will help grow local philanthropic assets for the Appalachian Ohio region.

Jeff East, Regional President of U.S. Bancorp, presented FAO Board Chair Joy Padgett with the $10,000 check during the Foundation’s annual Child of Appalachia Celebration at Muskingum University.

“Our grant to the Foundation for Appalachian Ohio speaks to U.S. Bank’s commitment to grow stronger and healthier communities,” said Jeff East. “FAO’s work across the region to grow locally-focused philanthropic resources will ensure a strong future for communities and for the region.”

U.S. Bank will join the Foundation’s I’m a Child of Appalachia Network, a group of individuals and organizations supporting the Foundation’s work to increase philanthropic investment in Appalachian Ohio as well as activities to instill pride and confidence among the region’s citizens. U.S. Bancorp Foundation’s grant will help FAO to address the philanthropy gap in Appalachian Ohio by growing philanthropic resources to address our communities’ most pressing needs.

“We are proud to call U.S. Bank a member of our I’m a Child of Appalachia Network,” said FAO President and CEO Cara Dingus Brook. “Their partnership is an exciting example of their investment in local communities. In growing philanthropy in Appalachian Ohio, we are creating opportunities for the region’s citizens today and for years to come.”
