SPCAEF annual community grant and scholarship applications open Feb. 15

Applications for funding due April 1

CORNING, Ohio – The Southern Perry County Academic Endowment Fund (SPCAEF) will be accepting applications for its 2024 community grants and scholarships Feb. 15 through April 1.

Grant funding

Southern Perry County organizations and schools are invited to apply for grants to fund programs that promote academic excellence and educational enrichment opportunities. Previous grant funding has been used to advance arts and cultural programming, historic preservation, and classroom enrichment activities and resources. In 2023, SPCAEF awarded four grants, totaling nearly $10,000.

Scholarship funding

Scholarships are available to graduating seniors and graduates of Miller High School who are pursuing a postsecondary education in various areas of study. In 2023, SPCAEF awarded more than 50 scholarships to 16 students.

Applications are available in the Miller High School guidance office and at www.AppalachianOhio.org/SouthernPerry. Completed applications and all supporting materials may be emailed to Scholarships@ffao.org or mailed (with postmark by April 1, 2024) to SPCAEF-FAO, 35 Public Square, Nelsonville, OH 45764.

Part of the Community Foundation for Perry County’s family of funds, SPCAEF was established in 1987 to create resources to promote academic experiences for residents of the Southern Local School District. SPCAEF partners with the Foundation for Appalachian Ohio to provide scholarships and community grants.
