2026 scholarship application
Applications are being accepted through Friday, June 26.
Completed applications and all supporting materials may be emailed to Scholarships@ffao.org or mailed (with postmark by June 26, 2026) to Foundation for Appalachian Ohio, 35 Public Square, Nelsonville, OH 45764.
Eligibility requirements and criteria
Current and recent Guernsey County residents are eligible for the Zelma Gray Medical School Scholarship to cover the cost of tuition, lab fees and textbooks while pursuing a Doctor of Medicine (M.D.) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (D.O.) at an accredited medical school within the United States, in hopes that he or she will practice medicine in Guernsey County upon completion of his or her degree and training.
Awards are determined through objective criteria, including MCAT scores and college transcripts.
