Rose Elizabeth Bell MacConkey
This scholarship honors the memory of Rose Elizabeth Bell MacConkey, who graduated from Cambridge High School in 1935.
Rose was not financially able to attend college full time, so she took night classes at the Cambridge Business School while working. Later, as a young widow with two children, Rose returned to the workforce. She took a job in the office of Cambridge High School, where she worked until retirement. When asked about her accomplishments, Rose always mentioned her children and working at Cambridge High School.
Rose believed more women needed to be in business careers, so she always worked to empower women and to help those less fortunate.
