2026 scholarship application

Applications are being accepted Monday, Jan. 5, through Sunday, Feb. 15.

This scholarship is included in FAO’s general scholarship application, allowing applicants to apply for nearly 30 scholarship opportunities through one application.

Scholarship applications must be submitted online through the Foundation Cloud Community Portal. If you are a first-time scholarship applicant, you will need to register and create an account in the Portal. If you are a returning applicant, you may use your existing account.

About the Area Agency on Aging Region 9

The Area Agency on Aging Region 9, also known as AAA9, is a private nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization serving Belmont, Carroll, Coshocton, Guernsey, Harrison, Holmes, Jefferson, Muskingum and Tuscarawas counties. Its mission is to work with people, communities and organizations to help older adults and people with disabilities live independently and enjoy the highest quality of life possible.

Eligibility Requirements and Criteria

This scholarship is open to high school seniors, non-traditional students returning to school and students currently enrolled in a postsecondary program. Applicants must:

  • Reside within the current geographic service area of the Area Agency on Aging 9, which includes Belmont, Carroll, Coshocton, Guernsey, Harrison, Holmes, Jefferson, Muskingum and Tuscarawas counties
  • Be pursuing an RN (registered nurse) or LSW (licensed social worker) degree
  • Be attending a college or university within AAA9’s service area, including:
    • Belmont College in Belmont County
    • Buckeye Career Center in Tuscarawas County
    • Central Ohio Technical College’s Coshocton Campus in Coshocton County
    • Coshocton County Career Center’s Coshocton Campus in Coshocton County
    • Franciscan University of Steubenville in Jefferson County
    • Kent State University’s Tuscarawas Campus in Tuscarawas County
    • Mid-East Career and Technical Center’s Zanesville Campus in Muskingum County
    • Muskingum University in Muskingum County
    • Ohio University Eastern in Belmont County
    • Ohio University Zanesville in Muskingum County

Application Period

Applications are accepted annually in January and February.
