Merchants National Bank commits $25,000 to Hocking County Community Fund

Investment will be matched, providing $50,000 for community needs

Logan, OH – Merchants National Bank has committed $25,000 to support local programs and projects by establishing a fund with the Hocking County Community Fund (HCCF).

With the creation of the Merchants National Bank Community Fund for Hocking County, a named unrestricted fund with HCCF, the bank is establishing a lead gift toward HCCF’s Endow Campaign that is matched dollar-for-dollar, resulting in $50,000 in funding.

“We are pleased to partner with the Hocking County Community Fund and invest in projects that will benefit the community, our customers, and their neighbors,” said Kevin Canan, CRA Officer, Merchants National Bank. “We encourage others to do to the same. This is a great opportunity to double your impact and help HCCF continue to do great work.”

HCCF is a nonprofit organization established to benefit Hocking County, its people, and communities. It is part of the family of county-based funds at the Foundation for Appalachian Ohio (FAO), a regional community foundation serving the 32 counties of Appalachian Ohio.

This dollar-for-dollar match opportunity is available through FAO, supporting the HCCF endowment. HCCF’s goal is to raise $300,000 in pledges and donations, which FAO will match to become $600,000 in support of local projects and programs.

“We are pleased and grateful to partner with Merchants National Bank,” said Kristi Brooks of the HCCF Committee. “Merchants National Bank is investing in the people of Hocking County by supporting the programs and projects important to our community. Additionally, donations made now to HCCF are being matched dollar-for-dollar by FAO, so it’s a great time to give.”
