Celebrating the life and legacy of Jimmy Wood
The Jimmy Wood Memorial Scholarship Fund was established by Lonnie and Judy Wood to celebrate the life and legacy of their son, Jimmy Wood, who tragically passed away in 1993 after a car accident at the age of 16. The fund, which is a member of the Community Foundation for Perry County’s family of funds, provides scholarship awards to graduates of New Lexington High School, which Jimmy attended.
While at New Lexington High School, Jimmy was a member of the wrestling team, the Boots and Saddle 4-H Club and the Perry County OHC Horse Club. He enjoyed hunting, riding four-wheelers and riding horses.
