About Max Conner
Max Conner was a vibrant and active student in the Buchtel-York, now Nelsonville-York, School District, who tragically passed away in 1961 at age 16. While Max never had the opportunity to fulfill his life’s potential, the Conner family established a fund in Max’s memory through the Foundation for Appalachian Ohio to help today’s students better fulfill theirs.
The Max Conner Memorial Fund to Support the Nelsonville-York School District will provide permanent support through grants that promote academic excellence and classroom enrichment for students in the Nelsonville-York School District. The Conner family hopes grants distributed through the fund will empower teachers in the Nelsonville-York School District to take advantage of opportunities for their students that might not otherwise be available.
