The Commodores Foundation and The Ohio Governor’s Imagination Library
The Ohio Governor’s Imagination Library, now known as Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library of Ohio, is a program that mails kids one book each month until their 5th birthday. All kids in Ohio are eligible, and this program is available at no cost to families!
The program is surging in popularity and impacts an increasing number of children. More funds must be raised to keep the momentum.
The good news? The Association of Ohio Commodores Foundation wants to sponsor children to receive a full year of monthly book deliveries. By supporting the Commodores, you will be inspiring children’s love for reading.
Just $50 guarantees monthly delivery of expert-selected books to two young children for a year. Every donation will be matched dollar-for-dollar!
The fund’s resources are invested in the market to grow, ensuring that the Association of Ohio Commodores has resources to make a difference both today and for generations to come. And the fund’s partnership with FAO means the fund can accept complex gifts, including gifts of appreciated stock and direct IRA transfers.
Gifts of appreciated stock allow individuals to receive a full tax deduction on the full market value of their appreciated stock while eliminating the capital gains tax that would otherwise arise from the sale of the stock.
Meanwhile, thanks to the IRA Charitable Rollover, anyone 70 1/2 or older may make a charitable distribution of up to $105,000, tax-free, from a traditional IRA as a means of meeting their required minimum distribution.
Ways to give
Gifts to the Association of Ohio Commodores Foundation Fund are tax-deductible and can be made in many ways, including cash, bequests, stock, real estate, royalties, insurance beneficiaries and qualified charitable distributions from IRAs.
