About Ariana R. Ulloa

The Ariana R. Ulloa Memorial Scholarship was established by family, friends and students in 2003 to honor the memory and life’s work of Ariana R. Ulloa, so she may continue to live in the hearts of all she would have touched with her love.

Ariana was born in Mexico and moved to Athens in 1986. She began working for the Hocking College Department of International Programs in 1990, eventually moving into the position of director. She was known for her kind and encouraging nature and is affectionately remembered by many students as “Mamá Ariana.”

Although she passed away in December 2002, Ariana’s legacy lives on through this scholarship that supports international students or students pursuing international studies.
