Join the Community Foundation for Perry County on April 21
New Lexington, OH – The public is invited to celebrate the great work happening across Perry County and learn about future projects by joining the Community Foundation for Perry County (CFPC) at its spring event April 21.
During a hog roast at the Barn at the Backwoods, CFPC members will share the accomplishments of the last year, made possible by donations supporting projects in Perry County communities. Those attending will learn about the success of the Fill the Freezer campaign and the Southern Perry County Academic Endowment Fund, news on the Single Parent Fund, and programs that received grants from CFPC.
CFPC members will detail plans for the future, including new goals, fundraising initiatives, and how the public can get involved to make a difference in Perry County communities.
“Our foundation is having a positive impact on the lives of Perry County residents, thanks to support from those who deeply care about our communities. We want to share with the public what they’ve helped us accomplish,” said Tony Fiore of the CFPC. “I want to thank everyone who has helped us accomplish great things over the last 10 years. We are excited about our plans for 2022 and beyond and hope you will join us to learn more.”
The April 21 CFPC event starts with a 5 p.m. reception, followed by a dinner and program at 6 p.m. Tickets are $25 and include dinner and dessert. The Barn at the Backwoods is located at 8572 High Point Road, Thornville. RSVP by April 14 online at www.AppalachianOhio.org/CFPC or by calling 740-753-1111.
“The theme for this year’s event is ‘Thanks a million Perry County’. This reflects our Endow 200 goal to raise $1 million for the endowment. We are so close to accomplishing this goal,” said Fiore. “It will provide the foundation around $50,000 annually for projects throughout the county. The Foundation for Appalachia Ohio has a current dollar-for-dollar matching opportunity that will help us accomplish this goal before the end of 2022. Nevertheless, we need your help.”
A pledge today over five years immediately
adds the matched amount to the CFPC endowment. That means a pledge of $2,500 over 5 years equals $500 per year or $41 per month; however, the $2,500 match immediately goes into the CFPC endowment in 2022.
The CFPC is a fund of the Foundation for Appalachian Ohio (FAO), a regional community foundation serving the 32 counties of Appalachian Ohio.
