Funding available for Gallia, Highland, Hocking, Jackson, Meigs, Morgan and Perry counties
NELSONVILLE, Ohio – The Foundation for Appalachian Ohio (FAO) and seven of its affiliate foundation partners announce the opening of 2026 grant applications.
Funding is available for nonprofits, schools and public organizations serving Gallia, Highland, Hocking, Jackson, Meigs, Morgan and Perry counties.
With the support of donors, grants will be awarded to projects and programs advancing opportunities across five areas essential to flourishing communities: arts and culture, community and economic development, education, environmental stewardship, and health and human services. Emphasis is on supporting individuals of all ages who are spearheading efforts that create opportunities, meet pressing needs and unleash the potential within Appalachian Ohio communities.

Grant applications for FAO’s affiliate foundation partners in Guernsey, Harrison, Lawrence, Monroe, Noble and Vinton counties as well as in the Nelsonville area will open in late July. In 2025, FAO’s 15 affiliate foundation partners awarded more than $627,000 in grants to support projects and programs benefiting the region’s residents and communities.
