Funding available for Gallia, Harrison, Highland, Hocking, Jackson and Monroe counties as well as regionwide through AACF

NELSONVILLE, Ohio – The Foundation for Appalachian Ohio (FAO) and seven of its affiliate foundation partners announce the opening of 2025 grant applications.

Funding is available for nonprofits, schools and public organizations serving Gallia, Harrison, Highland, Hocking, Jackson and Monroe counties. In addition, the African American Community Fund is accepting grant applications from Black-led and Black-serving nonprofit and public organizations across Appalachian Ohio’s 32 counties.

Grants will be awarded to projects and programs advancing opportunities across five funding areas, known as FAO’s Pillars of Prosperity: arts and culture, community and economic development, education, environmental stewardship, and health and human services. Emphasis is on supporting individuals of all ages who are spearheading efforts that create opportunities, meet pressing needs and unleash the potential within Appalachian Ohio communities.

Grant applications open on April 29 and are due by June 10. Additional information and the applications are available at www.AppalachianOhio.org/grant-opportunities.

Grant applications for FAO’s affiliate foundation partners in Guernsey, Lawrence, Meigs, Morgan, Noble, Perry and Vinton counties, as well as in Nelsonville and its surrounding communities, will open later this year.

In 2024, FAO’s 15 affiliate foundation partners awarded more than $435,000 in grants to support projects and programs benefiting the region’s residents and communities.
