Chamber award honors outstanding value and commitment to the Monroe County community

WOODSFIELD, Ohio – The Monroe County Community Foundation (MCCF) has received the Monroe County Chamber of Commerce’s 2023 President’s Award, honoring the outstanding value and commitment MCCF provides to the local community.

“We are grateful to work alongside so many individuals and businesses, including our fellow members of the Monroe County Chamber of Commerce, who show their commitment to the people and places of Monroe County every day,” said Gwynn Stewart, MCCF founding committee member. “It’s an honor to accept this award on behalf of all who generously give their time, talent and treasure to fill the needs of Monroe County.”

A local affiliate of the Foundation for Appalachian Ohio, MCCF was established by community members to inspire giving among those who love Monroe County, ensuring resources benefit local people and communities now and in the future. Earnings from charitable giving are reinvested in the county through grants focused on five areas essential to creating transformative and sustainable change: arts and culture, community and economic development, education, environmental stewardship, and health and human services.

In 2022, MCCF and its family of 34 funds awarded more than $36,000 in grants and charitable activities. To learn more about MCCF’s impact, view its 2022 Annual Report at https://tinyurl.com/MCCF2022AnnualReport. MCCF’s 2023 grant applications will open in early August.
