FAO match results in $6,000 to benefit county’s residents, communities

LOGAN, Ohio – Walmart has committed $3,000 to the Hocking County Community Fund (HCCF) to be invested in efforts that support the residents and communities of Hocking County.

The Foundation for Appalachian Ohio (FAO) is matching Walmart’s gift dollar-for-dollar, resulting in $6,000 to benefit Hocking County today and for years to come.

“We are proud to support and partner with the Hocking County Community Fund to make a difference in our community,” said Susan Aldridge, manager of Walmart’s Logan Supercenter. “This gift reflects Walmart’s belief that when collaboration and charitable giving come together, people and communities thrive.”

HCCF was established in 2019 to grow flexible and lasting resources that benefit the people and communities of Hocking County in perpetuity. It is a local affiliate of FAO, a regional community foundation serving the 32 counties of Appalachian Ohio.

“On behalf of the Hocking County residents who will benefit from this gift now and in the future, we thank Walmart for their generosity and their partnership,” said Kristi Brooks, vice president of HCCF. “This funding will support grants we award annually to local nonprofit and public organizations whose projects and programs are filling needs and creating opportunities throughout Hocking County.”
