FAO match results in $60,000 investment to benefit county’s residents, communities

LOGAN, Ohio – Hocking Hills Banking Center, a member of the Vinton County National Bank (VCNB) Financial Family, has committed a total of $30,000 over the next three years to the Hocking County Community Fund (HCCF). This donation will support projects and programs that meet the county’s greatest needs and seize its most promising opportunities.

With its gift, VCNB is creating the VCNB Family Fund for Hocking County, a permanent fund that will support HCCF’s annual grants to local nonprofit and public organizations advancing opportunities for the people and communities of Hocking County. VCNB’s funding is being matched dollar-for-dollar by the Foundation for Appalachian Ohio (FAO).

“We are proud to partner with the Hocking County Community Fund and FAO to make a difference in one of the communities we are honored to serve,” said Mark Erslan, president of Vinton County National Bank. “As a community-centered organization, we put our employees and the area residents we serve first. That’s what we are doing with this investment that will benefit Hocking County today and in the future.”

HCCF was established in 2019 to grow flexible and lasting resources that benefit the people and communities of Hocking County in perpetuity. It is a local affiliate of FAO, a regional community foundation serving the 32 counties of Appalachian Ohio.

“We are honored and grateful for the generous support of Vinton County National Bank,” said Bailey Simons, president of the HCCF committee. “Having partners who invest in and are involved in our communities allows us to create new opportunities that improve the quality of life for our neighbors.”
