Woodsfield, OH – Graduating Monroe County students have an opportunity to obtain a scholarship in pursuit of an associates or bachelor’s degree.
The Davey L. and Sandra Jackson Turner Memorial Scholarship Fund was established in memory of Davey and Sandra Turner by their daughter Ashley and her husband, Mick Schumacher. This marks the third year the scholarship is being offered. The fund supports graduating students from Monroe County’s four Switzerland of Ohio local high schools: Beallsville, Monroe Central, River, or Swiss Hills Career Center.
To be considered for this scholarship, applicants must be pursuing a post-secondary education at an accredited two- or four-year institution of higher education to earn an associates or bachelor’s degree. Students must demonstrate a commitment to academics, be engaged in community service, and have participated in extra-curricular or work-related activities.
The Davey L. and Sandra Jackson Turner Memorial Scholarship is a fund of the Monroe County Community Foundation under the Foundation for Appalachian Ohio (FAO), a regional community foundation serving the 32 counties of Appalachian Ohio.
FAO’s general scholarship application form will be available February 15, 2022, from high school guidance offices and on FAO’s website at www.AppalachianOhio.org/ScholarshipApplications.
