Match Opportunity Available for Gifts to
Bishop Educational Gardens Fund
Logan, OH – Retired teachers Roberta and Bruce Bishop long dreamed that their land would one day support outdoor education. With a gift of 36 acres to the Hocking Soil & Water Conservation District in 2008, the Bishop Educational Gardens was established, and that dream became reality. Now, with the creation of an endowment fund, the legacy of Roberta and her late husband Bruce will be sustained for generations to come.
The endowment provides a permanent source of support to Bishop Educational Gardens and its mission to preserve the environment of the Hocking Hills while promoting environmental education. The Fund will specifically support Bishop Educational Gardens in developing educational materials, workshops, and special projects; offering scholarship assistance to students; growing and sustaining Lilyfest, the organization’s popular, annual celebration of arts, crafts, music, and gardens; and much more.
The endowment joins the Hocking County Community Fund’s Family of Funds at the Foundation for Appalachian Ohio (FAO). Through its partnership with the Hocking County Community Fund and FAO, all gifts to the new endowment are eligible for a limited time matching opportunity. Gifts will be matched dollar-for-dollar up to $5,000 per donor while matching funds from FAO remain available.
These match dollars are available on a first-come, first-served basis. To make sure that the Bishop Educational Gardens Endowment Fund benefits from this unique opportunity, give today.
Matching funds are also available for gifts to the Hocking County Community Fund. The HCCF ensures permanent support for the people and communities of Hocking County and works with FAO to grow grantmaking dollars for projects that improve quality of life.
