CFPC to Share Limited-Time Matching Opportunity
at November 14 Event

New Lexington, Ohio – The Community Foundation for Perry County (CFPC) will be celebrating a year of success and looking forward to expanding opportunities over the year to come at its annual event on Thursday, November 14.

“This year, we awarded $5,000 in grants to organizations working in the arts, education, and history, we purchased a hog to support 4H and fight against hunger, and we welcomed a new fund focused on outdoor recreation. So we have a great deal to celebrate at our annual event,” said Community Foundation for Perry County board member, Tony Fiore. “But we have even more to look forward to, because we now have an incredible opportunity to greatly accelerate our campaign to increase CFPC’s annual grantmaking ten-fold.”

In celebration of Perry County’s 200th birthday, CFPC launched Endow 200, a campaign to expand impact by growing CFPC’s permanent resources through 200 gifts of $5,000. By growing the CFPC’s endowment to about $1 million, Endow 200 will allow CFPC to create a brighter future for Perry County by generating approximately $50,000 in grants for the community each and every year – more than ten times what the CFPC is currently able to give.

And in partnership with the Foundation for Appalachian Ohio (FAO), CFPC has the potential to make significant progress toward this goal by the end of May. Thanks to matching funds awarded to FAO by the Ohio legislature, all gifts to CFPC’s endowment will be matched dollar-for-dollar while the $200,000 in available matching funds lasts. That means it’s now easier than ever to become an Endow 200 member, with all gifts of $2,500 or more now qualifying.

If CFPC succeeds in meeting its $200,000 match by May 31, 2020, that will mean an additional $400,000 creating opportunities for the citizens and communities of Perry County – a major step toward the ultimate goal of $1 million.

CFPC’s November 14 event will highlight this matching opportunity and celebrate the exceptional work of grantees in the community. The evening will begin with a reception at 5PM, followed by the dinner and program from 6 to 8PM. The event will take place at Barn at the Backwoods, located at 8572 High Point Rd., Thornville, OH 43076.

Tickets for the event are only $25 and include dinner and drinks. Tickets can be purchased at the door, from a CFPC committee member, or online at www.AppalachianOhio.org/CFPC. RSVPs will be accepted until Monday, November 4 by email at RSVP@ffao.org or by phone at 740.753.1111.

The Community Foundation for Perry County was established in 2012 to ensure permanent support for the citizens and communities of Perry County. A community fund of the Foundation for Appalachian Ohio (FAO), CFPC works with FAO to grow grantmaking dollars for projects that improve quality of life in Perry County and across Appalachian Ohio.
