Deadline to Apply is October 15
McConnelsville, OH – The Morgan Community Fund is pleased to announce that its Fortuna Grant Program is currently accepting applications for projects serving Morgan County.
Individual grant awards will range between $500 and $5,000, with a total of $10,000 available in this grant round. Public and nonprofit, tax-exempt organizations serving Morgan County are invited to submit applications for projects that will increase quality of life, create access to opportunities, or implement a solution for a community need. Projects should improve or provide cultural, wellness and educational opportunities to the citizens of Morgan County. At this time, the Fortuna Grant Program does not accept applications for event sponsorships, sports-related requests, or requests seeking operating capital or start-up funds.
Applications, available at www.AppalachianOhio.org/Morgan, must be submitted with a 501(c)(3) IRS determination letter or audited financial statements for public organizations. Fortuna Grant Program applications must be post-marked by October 15, 2019, and mailed to Morgan Community Fund, P.O. Box 577, McConnelsville, OH 43756.
In 2018, grants supported Morgan County projects such as a summer camp engaging youth in different art forms, personal hygiene kits for seniors, a conservation program for children and adults to learn wildlife, soil, and water management skills, the installation of lights at Kiwanis Jaycee Park to enhance security and safety, and more.
The Morgan Community Fund was established in 2008 to ensure permanent support for the citizens and communities of Morgan County. A local community fund of the Foundation for Appalachian Ohio, the Morgan Community Fund works to inspire philanthropy. The local Morgan Community Fund Board includes Melanie Baldwin, Donna Morrison, April Nichols, Quincy Robe, Sherri Simons, John Wells, Kelsey Wells, Richard Wetzel, and Mike Workman.
Gifts to the Morgan Community Fund are tax deductible and can be made in many ways, including cash, bequests, life insurance, and charitable remainder trusts.
