Deadline to Apply Is May 1

Corning, OH – The Southern Perry County Academic Endowment Fund (SPCAEF) is pleased to once again open its annual scholarship application to students throughout Southern Perry County. SPCAEF is also pleased to announce the opening of its annual grant application for organizations and schools serving the southern Perry community. Additional information as well as this year’s scholarship and grant applications can be found on the Fund’s webpage, www.AppalachianOhio.org/SouthernPerry. Applications must be postmarked by Monday, May 1, 2017.

“Each year we look forward to what the grants and scholarships through the Southern Perry County Academic Endowment Fund will make possible for our students and community,” said Angela Plant, president of the Southern Perry County Academic Endowment Fund board. “Because of donors with a passion for Southern Perry County, we can expand opportunities available to students through grants supporting a wide-range of educational pursuits and scholarships that enable post-secondary education.”

The SPCAEF’s Family of Funds is composed of 21 donor-established funds offering a variety of scholarships to support students in different areas of study who graduated from the Southern Local School District.

Community grants are also available through the month of April. These grants can be used to fund programs throughout southern Perry County that create a positive impact on the community. These grants have been used to fund a variety of programs in the past, including historical preservation, community arts and culture programming, and classroom enrichment activities and resources.

Completed applications and all accompanying materials must be postmarked by Monday, May 1, 2017 and sent to SPCAEF-FAO, PO Box 456, Nelsonville, Ohio 45764. SPCAEF was created in in 1987 to create resources to promote academic experiences for residents of the Southern Local School district. A member of the Community Foundation for Perry County’s Family of Funds, SPCAEF partners with the Foundation for Appalachian Ohio (FAO) to provide scholarships as well as community mini-grants to promote academic excellence and enrichment opportunities for Southern Local School District residents.
