Grants will Support STEM Education and Workforce Development Projects in Harrison and Tuscarawas Counties

Nelsonville, OH – The Chevron Community Fund at the Foundation for Appalachian Ohio (FAO) is pleased to announce that its 2017 grant cycle is now open. Public and nonprofit organizations serving Harrison and Tuscarawas counties with projects related to STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math) education and workforce development are invited to apply. Projects serving basic human needs may also be considered. Applications open April 4, 2017 and must be submitted to the Foundation for Appalachian Ohio by Tuesday, May 9, 2017. Applications are available online at www.AppalachianOhio.org/Chevron.

“Chevron is pleased to partner with FAO to provide grants to the Harrison and Tuscarawas county communities,” said Laurie Serwinski, Ohio representative of policy, government, and public affairs with Chevron. “We are eager to support the organizations that are making a difference in these communities.”

The Chevron Community Fund was created at FAO in 2014 to direct philanthropic resources to the needs of the communities where the company operates to address specific areas of investment essential to ensuring and sustaining a high quality of life. This year’s grant awards will range in size from $1,000 to $5,000. Completed applications must be emailed or postmarked by Tuesday, May 9, 2017.
