Scholarships Will Provide Educational Scholarships to Students
Pursuing Post-Secondary Education

Byesville, OHThe Guernsey County Board of Developmental Disabilities is pleased to announce the creation of the Guernsey County Board of Developmental Disabilities Scholarship Fund, part of the Guernsey County Foundation’s Family of Funds at the Foundation for Appalachian Ohio (FAO). The Fund will provide educational scholarships to students who are accepted into and attend accredited programs providing training and certification in various trades and fields of vocational interest, associate’s degree programs, and four-year institutions of higher learning.

The scholarship is available to residents of Guernsey County who are eligible for services of the Guernsey County Board of Development Disabilities, and applications are available at the Guernsey County Board of Developmental Disabilities office, located at 60770 Southgate Road, Byesville, OH 43723.

The Guernsey County Board of Developmental Disabilities serves over 300 Guernsey County individuals with disabilities. The Board ensures the availability of programs, services, and supports that assist eligible individuals with developmental disabilities in choosing and achieving a life of increasing capability so that they can live, work, and recreate in the community, and to assist and support the families of these individuals in achieving these objectives.

“We are pleased to partner with the Guernsey County Foundation and FAO to support students through the Guernsey County Board of Developmental Disabilities Scholarship,” said Kellie Brown, superintendent of the Guernsey County Board of Developmental Disabilities. “We work every day to provide programs that ensure those with developmental disabilities interact with and engage in their communities. The Scholarship Fund will provide financial resources to our young adults to make post-secondary education more achievable.”

The Guernsey County Board of Developmental Disabilities Scholarship Fund is a member of the Guernsey County Foundation’s Family of Funds. The Guernsey County Foundation was created in 1988 and is dedicated to improving the quality of life for the Guernsey County community, both now and in the future. Through a unique partnership with FAO, the Guernsey County Foundation works to raise and distribute funds locally while FAO provides support to help achieve that mission. The Guernsey County Foundation receives contributions and bequests of all sizes from individuals to assist in the funding of projects and charitable organizations.
