More than $14,000 in funding to support nonprofit and public projects, programs
McCONNELSVILLE, Ohio – The Morgan Community Fund (MCF) has awarded 11 grants, totaling more than $14,000, to advance projects and programs serving individuals and communities throughout Morgan County.
“Every dollar we award results from the efforts of those who pour their hard work and love into nurturing a brighter future for Morgan County and the generosity of many who support their efforts,” said Kelsey Wells, MCF committee member. “As we prepare to enter our 15th year of serving Morgan County, we are excited to see the immediate impact of these investments and witness how they will continue to be transformative for years to come.”
Earlier this year, MCF, in partnership with the Foundation for Appalachian Ohio and FAO’s I’m a Child of Appalachia® Fund, invited nonprofit and public organizations to apply for grants for projects and programs benefiting Morgan County. Preference was given to efforts that increase quality of life, create access to opportunities or implement a solution to a local need.
Eleven grants were awarded during the 2022 funding cycle:
· Habitat for Humanity of Southeast Ohio to assist with a home build in Malta in partnership with the Morgan High School Construction Trade Program.
· Malta McConnelsville Joint Recreation Board to help fund the purchase and installation of new swings at the Malta & McConnelsville Kiwanis-Jaycee Community Park.
· Malta McConnelsville Rotary Club to support its Rotarians Feeding Morgan County’s Hungry initiatives.
· MoCo Kitty Kontrol to help support spay/neuter clinics.
