Meigs County Foundation accepting applications through Sept. 12
POMEROY, Ohio – The Meigs County Foundation (MCF) in partnership with the Foundation for Appalachian Ohio (FAO) is accepting grant applications from nonprofits, schools and public organizations for projects and programs benefiting Meigs County residents and communities.
The 2023 application period for grant funding opens Aug. 1 and closes Sept. 12.
MCF and FAO’s I’m a Child of Appalachia® Fund will award grants across five areas essential to creating and sustaining transformative change: arts and culture, community and economic development, education, environmental stewardship, and health and human services. Emphasis is on supporting individuals of all ages who are spearheading projects and programs that create opportunities, meet pressing needs and unleash the potential within Meigs County. Applications that support youth-led projects are encouraged as well.
Additional information and the 2023 grant application are available at www.AppalachianOhio.org/Meigs.
“The funding for these grants comes from donors who care about Meigs County and its future,” said Jennifer Sheets, president of MCF’s Board of Directors. “Through these grants, we look to spread their love throughout Meigs County, so that our residents and our communities have what they need to thrive today and for years to come.”
Earnings from charitable giving to MCF are reinvested in Meigs County through annual grants that meet the county’s greatest needs and seize its most promising opportunities. In fall 2022, MCF and FAO awarded 11 grants, totaling more than $45,000, to organizations serving Meigs County.
