The Hocking County Community Fund is holding its fifth annual Fill the Freezer campaign Saturday, Sept. 19, at the 2026 Hocking County Fair. The campaign invites buyers at the fair’s junior (large animal) livestock sale to donate their hog purchases and others to donate money to cover meat processing costs to fill the freezers of Hocking County’s food pantries and fight hunger – one pig at a time. The large animal sale begins at 5 p.m. and will take place in this order: goats, sheep, hogs and steer. Learn more about Fill the Freezer.
