Vinton County Community Fund accepting applications through Sept. 12

McARTHUR, Ohio – The Vinton County Community Fund (VCCF) in partnership with the Foundation for Appalachian Ohio (FAO) is accepting grant applications from nonprofits, schools and public organizations for projects and programs benefiting Vinton County residents and communities.

The 2023 application period for grant funding opens Aug. 1 and closes Sept. 12.

VCCF and FAO’s I’m a Child of Appalachia® Fund will award grants across five areas essential to creating and sustaining transformative change: arts and culture, community and economic development, education, environmental stewardship, and health and human services. Emphasis is on supporting individuals of all ages who are spearheading projects and programs that create opportunities, meet pressing needs and unleash the potential within Vinton County. Applications that support youth-led projects are encouraged as well.

Additional information and the 2023 grant application are available at www.AppalachianOhio.org/Vinton.

“We are pleased and thankful for the opportunity to play a part in meeting the needs of the citizens of Vinton County,” said Bruce Knox, a founding VCCF committee member. “It is one of the main reasons we established the Vinton County Community Fund in 2022.”

Earnings from charitable giving to VCCF are reinvested in Vinton County through annual grants that meet the county’s greatest needs and seize its most promising opportunities. In fall 2022, VCCF and FAO awarded five grants, totaling $10,000, to organizations serving Vinton County.
