Organizations assisting Perry County residents eligible to apply
NEW LEXINGTON, Ohio – The Perry County Disaster Relief Fund is accepting grant applications from organizations serving residents affected by the August flash flooding in Perry County.
The Community Foundation for Perry County (CFPC), an affiliate of the Foundation for Appalachian Ohio (FAO), established the Perry County Disaster Relief Fund in the aftermath of the flooding to provide support for Perry County’s immediate recovery while creating a lasting resource to help the community respond to future disasters.
“Neighbors helping neighbors is the heart of Perry County. This fund turns that spirit into action – ready to meet any storm with compassion and courage,” said CFPC President Tony Fiore. “The impact of this flood is being felt across our families, businesses and communities throughout Perry County. We appreciate all of the organizations helping serve the needs of our neighbors around the clock. This fund helps provide additional resources to support those efforts.”
Applications are open to 501(c)(3) public charities and other organizations eligible to receive tax-deductible contributions, including schools, faith-based organizations and other public entities providing immediate relief and essential services to individuals affected by the flooding in Corning, Crooksville, Roseville and other communities throughout Perry County. The fund is not accepting applications from individuals directly. Instead, it will direct funding to organizations on the front lines of the flood response who are supporting affected Perry County residents, especially those not supported by other funding sources.

Any funding not needed for the current flood response will remain in the Perry County Disaster Relief Fund, creating a resource for the community when the next need arises.
