Southwestern Energy and FAO invite K-12 public schools and educators to apply by Nov. 7

NELSONVILLE, Ohio – Southwestern Energy and the Foundation for Appalachian Ohio (FAO) announce the opening of grant applications to support STEM (science, technology, engineering and mathematics) educational activities in K-12 classrooms and schools in Guernsey and Monroe counties.

Public school districts and educators working in those two counties are invited to apply for funding to implement enhanced STEM-based learning materials, opportunities and experiences during the 2023-24 school year. Grant awards, provided through the Southwestern Energy STEM Education Fund in partnership with FAO’s I’m a Child of Appalachia® Fund, are anticipated to range up to $500, but larger requests will be considered.

Grant applications will open on Tuesday, Sept. 26, and must be submitted by Tuesday, Nov. 7. Additional information and the grant application are available at www.AppalachianOhio.org/grant-opportunities. Applications must be submitted online.

“As a company focused on powering the world, we take just as much pride in powering futures through educational opportunities like this,” said Stephanie Paluda, Southwestern Energy community relations manager. “These grants and our partnership with FAO are just one of the ways Southwestern Energy is living its commitment to have a sustainable, positive impact in the areas in which we operate.”
