Funding available for nonprofits, schools and public organizations serving Lawrence County

IRONTON, Ohio – The Lawrence County Community Foundation (LCCF), in partnership with the Foundation for Appalachian Ohio (FAO), is accepting grant applications for projects and programs benefiting the people and communities of Lawrence County.

Nonprofits, schools and public organizations serving Lawrence County are eligible for this grant opportunity. Other groups working in fiscal agent partnership with a nonprofit or public organization are also eligible to apply. If you need help finding a fiscal agent, contact LCCF for assistance.

LCCF will award grants that advance opportunities across five areas essential to flourishing communities: arts and culture, community and economic development, education, environmental stewardship, and health and human services. Emphasis is on supporting individuals of all ages who are spearheading projects and programs that create opportunities, meet pressing needs and unleash the potential within Lawrence County.

Grant requests should be limited to $5,000, but larger requests over multiple years may be considered based on potential community impact and available funding. Priority will be given to organizations based in Lawrence County that are community-driven, volunteer and grassroots led.

Additional information and the 2026 grant application are available at www.AppalachianOhio.org/Lawrence/grant-opportunities. Applications must be submitted online by Tuesday, Sept. 8.

Gifts to LCCF’s endowment fund are invested, and the earnings generated from those investments fund the grants LCCF awards each year. In 2025, LCCF, one of FAO’s 15 affiliate foundation partners, awarded more than $46,000 to advance 11 projects and programs benefiting Lawrence County.
