Twelve projects, programs receive funding from Logan-Holl Foundation Fund
LOGAN, Ohio – The Logan-Holl Foundation Fund at the Foundation for Appalachian Ohio (FAO) has awarded 12 grants, totaling nearly $32,000, to projects and programs benefiting the people of the city of Logan and Hocking County.
“We are honored to carry forward the legacy of Barton A. Holl, who gave generously throughout his lifetime to champion the communities closest to his heart,” said Rudy Brandt, secretary-treasurer of the Logan-Holl Foundation Fund. “Each of these grants is an investment in the well-being of our neighbors and support for those who serve our communities.”
Grants were awarded to:
- First Presbyterian Church of Logan to purchase food for its food pantry
- FosterHub to help provide resources, including housing and food, to Hocking County youth aging out of the foster care system
- Hocking Athens Perry Community Action to purchase food for distribution at the new HAPCAP for Health Market and Training Hub in Logan
- Hocking County EMS to support the “Neighbors Helping Neighbors” program in eastern Hocking County, which provides automated external defibrillators to local medics to reduce cardiac arrest response times
- Hocking Hills Children’s Museum to replace educational toys that are showing wear and tear
- Hocking Hills Inspire Shelter to replace mattresses and to purchase a pergola to provide shelter from the elements
- inspiHER Girls Leadership Foundation to support the 2025 Girls Leadership Retreat for girls ages 11-14 from underserved communities
- Logan-Hocking Local School District to support a project through which students are creating bike lock posts for the downtown Logan area
- Summer Children’s Arts Experience, held at The Bowen House, to support a camp where children, ages 5-18, from Hocking County and surrounding areas can explore world cultures through music, dance, visual art, theater, food and history
- My Sister’s Place to provide financial support to domestic violence survivors in Hocking County
- Washington Township Volunteer Fire Department to equip volunteer firefighters with fully stocked medic bags
- We Are Friends, a ministry of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, to provide assistance to Hocking County individuals and families who may not qualify for help from county, state or federal programs
Barton A. Holl, an industrialist and community leader, founded the Logan-Holl Foundation in 1968 to continue his legacy of funding projects that benefit the people of Logan and Hocking County. The Logan-Holl Foundation Fund joined FAO in 2021 and is a member of the family of funds within the Hocking County Community Fund, one of FAO’s local affiliate foundation partners.
The next Logan-Holl Foundation Fund grant round will open in early 2026.
