The Nada Kerr Fund to Provide Books for Kids in Athens

The Nada Kerr Fund to Provide Books for Kids in Athens honors the legacy of Nada Kerr, a longtime Athens resident who passed away in 2014 at the age of 92. Nada had a passion for contributing to the world, and her family therefore established a fund in her name to carry on her legacy of generosity, while giving back to the community that she called home for almost all of her adult life.

The Nada Kerr Fund to Provide Books for Kids in Athens is designed to support elementary schools in the Athens City School District by providing books for children in kindergarten through third grade to take home over the summer. Reading proficiency can often decline after the long summer break, and giving children the opportunity to own their very first book, sit outdoors and enjoy a story, read to a younger sibling, and more encourages continued practice, skill building, and a love for learning.

Gifts to the Nada Kerr Fund to Provide Books for Kids in Athens are tax deductible and can be made in many ways, including cash, bequests, and life insurance. Donations can be made online by designating the Nada Kerr Fund to Provide Books for Kids in Athens when donating. To mail your donation, please designate the fund and mail to the Foundation for Appalachian Ohio, PO Box 456, Nelsonville, OH 45764.
