Southern Perry County Academic Endowment Fund Scholarship and Grant Applications Open April 1

Deadline to Apply Is May 1

Corning, OH – The Southern Perry County Academic Endowment Fund (SPCAEF) is pleased to once again open its annual scholarship application to students throughout Southern Perry County as well as its annual grant application for organizations and schools serving the Southern Perry community. Additional information as well as this year’s scholarship and grant applications can be found on the Fund’s webpage, www.AppalachianOhio.org/SouthernPerry. Applications open April 1 and must be postmarked by Tuesday, May 1, 2018.

“Every year we receive applications for the Southern Perry County Academic Endowment Fund and it reminds us how incredible the students in our area are and how important it is to support them,” said Angela Plant, president of the Southern Perry County Academic Endowment Fund board. “We are so thankful to have donors in our area that are as passionate about our kids as we are, as it wouldn’t be possible to support our kids without them. With these scholarships, we are giving the youth an opportunity to expand their education, something that may not have been possible otherwise.”

The SPCAEF’s Family of Funds is composed of 22 donor-established funds offering a variety of scholarships to support students in different areas of study who graduated from the Southern Local School District.

Community grants are also available through the month of April. These grants can be used to fund programs throughout Southern Perry County that create a positive impact on the community. These grants have been used to fund a variety of programs in the past, including historical preservation, community arts and culture programming, and classroom enrichment activities and resources.

Completed applications and all accompanying materials must be postmarked by Tuesday, May 1, 2018 and sent to SPCAEF-FAO, PO Box 456, Nelsonville, Ohio 45764. Detailed information on scholarship and grant opportunities, guidelines, and application materials can be found at www.AppalachianOhio.org/SouthernPerry.

SPCAEF was created in 1987 to create resources to promote academic experiences for residents of the Southern Local School district. A member of the Community Foundation for Perry County’s Family of Funds, SPCAEF partners with the Foundation for Appalachian Ohio (FAO) to provide scholarships as well as community mini-grants to promote academic excellence and enrichment opportunities for Southern Local School District residents.
