2025 scholarship application

Applications are being accepting Monday, Jan. 13, through Friday, Feb. 14.

This scholarship is included in FAO’s general scholarship application, allowing applicants to apply for nearly 30 scholarship opportunities through one easy-to-access application.

FAO has transitioned to a new online system, Foundation Cloud Community Portal, for funding applications, including scholarships. Before applying for a scholarship, all applicants must register and create an account in the new system. Once registered, click on the “Scholarship Application” tab and then select “Available Scholarships,” where you can access the specific scholarship application form.

About Environmental Stewardship Pillar of Prosperity Scholarships

These scholarships have been made possible by a transformative investment from the Muskingum Watershed Conservancy District and the generosity of many donors, including Nicolozakes Trucking & Construction Inc., Ohio CAT, American Electric Power (AEP), the AEP Foundation and the AEP Ohio Foundation.

Eligibility Requirements and Criteria
  • Students seeking degrees or continuing education in ecology, forestry, wildlife ecology or related natural resource fields, as well as skilled trades, vocational and technical training in fields that integrate and support green energy technology, sustainable agriculture and land stewardship
  • Qualified individuals at any point in their education
  • Residents in the 32 counties of Appalachian Ohio and seven additional counties served by the Muskingum Watershed Conservancy District (Ashland, Knox, Licking, Richland, Summit, Stark and Wayne)
  • Preference given to applicants with an expressed intent to live and work in Appalachian Ohio
