Nine grants to support nonprofit, public and youth-led projects and programs<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

CALDWELL, Ohio \u2013<\/strong> The Noble County Community Foundation (NCCF) has awarded nine grants, totaling $15,000, to support initiatives benefiting the county\u2019s residents and communities, including three youth-led projects.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThe Noble County Community Foundation is committed to bringing together gifts of time, talent and treasure in ways that can be seen today and will be felt for generations,\u201d said Donald Ullmann, NCCF vice chair. \u201cThat\u2019s what these grants are \u2013 funding that will make an immediate and lasting impact on our residents and our communities.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This summer, NCCF and the Foundation for Appalachian Ohio\u2019s I\u2019m a Child of Appalachia\u00ae Fund invited nonprofits, schools and public organizations to apply for grants to advance initiatives across five areas essential to creating and sustaining transformative change: arts and culture, community and economic development, education, environmental stewardship, and health and human services. Emphasis was on supporting individuals of all ages who are spearheading projects and programs that create opportunities, meet pressing needs and unleash the potential within Noble County.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Grants were awarded to:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u00b7 Boys & Girls Club of Washington County to help cover the cost of healthy snacks at the Noble County-serving Shenandoah Club\u2019s before- and afterschool program<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u00b7 Caldwell Exempted Village School District to help fund a new STEM-focused makerspace, providing hands-on, creative ways to encourage students to design, experiment, build and invent<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u00b7 Cancer Support Community Central Ohio to support Living with Cancer Support Groups for Noble County cancer patients and caregivers<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u00b7 Lutheran Social Services to purchase food for the food pantry distributions in Noble County<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u00b7 Noble County Historical Society to help replace the metal roof of Bethel Primitive Church at Heritage Park<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u00b7 Ronald McDonald House Charities of Central Ohio to help cover overnight stays for Noble County families<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The I\u2019m a Child of Appalachia\u00ae Fund provided NCCF up to $5,000 to support projects developed and implemented by local youth under age<\/p>\n\n\n\n

18. The goal of this funding is to empower young leaders and inspire them to embrace greater roles in their communities. NCCF awarded youth-led project grant funding to:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u00b7 The iBELIEVE Foundation to fund the participation of five Noble County youth in the 2024 iBELIEVE Youth Leadership Workshops<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u00b7 Noble County CARES to cover the cost of Red Ribbon Week activities, the annual Prom Pledge\/Mock Crash, and drug awareness and prevention materials, all led by the Students Against Destructive Decisions (SADD) chapters at Noble Local and Caldwell schools<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u00b7 Noble LIFT Youth Leadership to help fund its capstone project, building a Noble County community garden<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Matching funds are available for year-end gifts<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Foundation for Appalachian Ohio is providing a 50-cent match for every $1 given to any endowment at FAO, including those supporting its affiliate foundations. Matching funds can even be used to help start a new endowment fund. A total of $500,000 in match funding is available on a first-come, first served basis through Dec. 31, with up to $25,000 in match available per household.
