Lawrence County Community Foundation accepting applications through Sept. 12<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

IRONTON, Ohio \u2013 The Lawrence County Community Foundation (LCCF) in partnership with the Foundation for Appalachian Ohio (FAO) is accepting grant applications from nonprofits, schools and public organizations for projects and programs benefiting Lawrence County residents and communities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The 2023 application period for grant funding opens Aug. 1 and closes Sept. 12.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

LCCF and FAO\u2019s I\u2019m a Child of Appalachia\u00ae Fund will award grants across five areas essential to creating and sustaining transformative change: arts and culture, community and economic development, education, environmental stewardship, and health and human services. Emphasis is on supporting individuals of all ages who are spearheading projects and programs that create opportunities, meet pressing needs and unleash the potential within Lawrence County. Applications that support youth-led projects are encouraged as well.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cWe look forward to helping fund projects and people right here in Lawrence County who are making a difference and elevating the quality of life in our communities,\u201d said Colton Copley, president of the LCCF committee.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Earnings from charitable giving to LCCF are reinvested in Lawrence County through annual grants that meet the county\u2019s greatest needs and seize its most promising opportunities. In fall 2022, LCCF and FAO awarded five grants, totaling $10,000, to organizations serving Lawrence County.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
