{"id":309,"date":"2025-09-22T08:52:45","date_gmt":"2025-09-22T12:52:45","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/appalachianohio.org\/gallia\/?p=309"},"modified":"2025-09-22T08:52:46","modified_gmt":"2025-09-22T12:52:46","slug":"gallia-community-foundation-announces-2025-grant-recipients","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/appalachianohio.org\/gallia\/2025\/09\/22\/gallia-community-foundation-announces-2025-grant-recipients\/","title":{"rendered":"Gallia Community Foundation announces 2025 grant recipients"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><em>Nearly $24,000 awarded to support 10 projects and programs<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>GALLIPOLIS, Ohio<\/strong> \u2013 The Gallia Community Foundation (GCF), with the support of its donors and in partnership with the Foundation for Appalachian Ohio (FAO), has awarded $23,750 in 2025 grants to advance 10 projects and programs benefiting the county\u2019s residents and communities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cWe are honored to support the visionaries and volunteers who are working every day to strengthen our communities,\u201d said Nick Roach, GCF committee member. \u201cThanks to generous donors who are committed to our neighbors and communities, we\u2019re able to invest in everything from food security and senior digital literacy to classroom learning tools and public safety equipment.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Nonprofits, schools and public organizations serving Gallia County were invited to apply for grants \u2013 made possible by gifts to GCF\u2019s endowment fund \u2013 to advance opportunities across five funding areas: arts and culture, community and economic development, education, environmental stewardship, and health and human services. Emphasis is on supporting individuals of all ages who are spearheading projects and programs that create opportunities, meet pressing needs and unleash the potential within Gallia County.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The 2025 grant recipients are:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Court Street Ministries to fund monthly food delivery fees for a year<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Easterseals Central and Southeast Ohio to increase local enrollment in Dolly Parton\u2019s Imagination Library of Ohio and to provide books to Gallia County children in the program<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Gallia Academy High School to cover the cost of transporting AP English students to the Auschwitz exhibit at the Cincinnati Museum Center<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Gallia County Board of Developmental Disabilities received two grants: (1) to purchase sensory items that will be integrated into classrooms, community programs and therapy sessions and (2) to repair the walk-in freezer at Guiding Hand School<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Gallia County Council on Aging to provide beginner and next-level iPad\/tablet training to seniors to increase their digital literacy and connectivity, supported by the AT&amp;T Foundation<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Gallia County Local Schools to purchase art supplies, STEM kits and physical education equipment for students residing at the Children\u2019s Center of Ohio<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>John Gee Black Historical Center to purchase audio and visual equipment to expand its programming, educational services and community events<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Square One GJM to help purchase a reliable used vehicle to transport clients, including individuals experiencing homelessness and survivors of domestic violence, sexual assault and human trafficking<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Vinton Volunteer Fire Department to purchase automated external defibrillators for emergency response vehicles<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">GCF, one of FAO\u2019s 15 affiliate foundation partners, was established in 2011 to develop and grow permanent resources that provide continuous investment in Gallia County and its nonprofits, schools and communities.
