About Nada Kerr
The Nada Kerr Fund to Provide Books for Kids in Athens honors the legacy of Nada Kerr, a longtime Athens resident who passed away in 2014 at the age of 92. Nada had a passion for contributing to the world, and her family established a fund in her name to carry on her legacy of generosity while giving back to the community she called home for almost all of her adult life.
Reading proficiency can often decline over the long summer break, and giving children the opportunity to own their very first book, sit outdoors and enjoy a story, read to a younger sibling and more encourages continued practice, skill building and a love for learning.
