The Donald R. Myers LegacyFund was created with a generous, seed investment from Columbia Gas of Ohio tohonor the life and work of Don Myers, former director of the Ohio Mid-EasternGovernments Association (OMEGA). Before his passing in 2008, Mr. Myers hadworked throughout his career to create access to vital partnerships andeducational opportunities, and to encourage meaningful study of oftenoverlooked problems, including issues surrounding basic needs. “This grant honors the spirit of Don Myers and hisdedication to education in Appalachian Ohio,” said Cara Dingus Brook, presidentand CEO of the Foundation for Appalachian Ohio. “It will be a permanentremembrance of his work in our region and FAO is proud to be a partner in it.”

This year’s grant, inpartnership with the Foundation for Appalachian Ohio, honors Mr. Myers’scommitment to education by ensuring all students at Belmont College will haveaccess to the same resources. In his honor, a plaque will be placed at thestation acknowledging the Don Myers Legacy Fund.
