Bellisio Foods Scholarship Fund announces spring scholarship recipient

JACKSON, Ohio – Tessa Wells of Jackson, Ohio, has been awarded a spring 2023 scholarship from the Bellisio Foods Scholarship Fund at the Foundation for Appalachian Ohio.

Established in 2007 in honor of Bellisio Foods founder Jeno Paulucci, the fund awards scholarships to children and grandchildren of Bellisio Foods employees pursuing postsecondary education. Recipients are selected based on character, community service, financial need, and academic performance and potential.

“Jeno Paulucci firmly believed in the power education has to better lives and communities and in showing gratitude to the dedicated employees who contribute to the mission and success of this company,” said Joel Conner, senior advisor of Bellisio Foods. “We are honored to continue his legacy by supporting the dreams of the families within the Bellisio Foods family.”

Tessa Wells is a 2023 graduate of Jackson High School who plans to attend the University of Rio Grande, major in psychology and pursue a career in law enforcement. Tessa’s mother, Amanda Gallagher, is an employee of Bellisio Foods.

The Foundation for Appalachia (FAO) partners with Bellisio Foods and others to support the educational pursuits of students in Appalachian Ohio and beyond. The Bellisio Foods Scholarship is open twice a year for students to apply (February and October).

FAO creates opportunities for people in Appalachian Ohio by inspiring and supporting philanthropy. A central part of this work is to support communities, in partnership with partners like the Jackson County Community Foundation, across areas essential to quality of life.
