Jackson County Community Foundation

Matching funds available! The Foundation for Appalachian Ohio is providing a 50-cent match for every $1 given to any endowment within the Jackson County Community Foundation’s family of funds. Matching funds can also be used to help start a new endowed fund and for new documented planned gifts. A total of $300,000 in match funding is available on a first-come, first served basis through Nov. 8, with up to $100,000 in match available per household.

The Jackson County Community Foundation (JCCF) Fund was created to give back, inspire pride, and promote development in Jackson County now and for future generations.

The goals of JCCF are to help Jackson County residents give locally, ensuring Jackson County resources benefit the community and citizens of Jackson County. JCCF also aims to make a lasting difference through the power of endowment.

Grant Opportunities

The Jackson County Community Foundation is partnering with FAO’s I’m A Child of Appalachia® Fund to provide a grant opportunity to nonprofits, schools, and public organizations working to benefit Jackson County residents.

  • City of Jackson to install playground equipment at Hillcrest Park
  • God’s Hands At Work to purchase food for its Jackson County mobile food pantry
  • Grace Clinics of Ohio Inc. to fund pharmacy vouchers and operational expenses for the Jackon Clinic
  • Jackson County 4-H Advisory Council to purchase curriculum and supplies for the Jackson County Spring Project Fair and 4-H Open House
  • Make Wellston Beautiful Inc. to purchase materials to build new quilt racks and art display boards for the Wellston OHillCo Festival Art Show and Quilt, Needlework, and Craft Show
  • Oak Hill Area Chamber of Commerce to help fund the fabrication and installation of “The World’s Largest Acorn” sculpture at Central Memorial Park in honor of the Village of Oak Hill’s 150th anniversary
  • Sojourners Care Network to provide Jackson County youth experiencing homelessness at least one warm holiday experience this December
  • Kicks 4 Coats, an initiative led by a Jackson High School senior to provide warm coats to Jackson County children ages 1-18
  • Southern Ohio Soles Inc., a nonprofit organization led by local high school students to provide footwear to students in need in Jackson County’s public schools

Contributions to the fund are tax deductible and can be made in a variety of ways, including: outright gifts of cash or long-term appreciated securities; memorial gifts of cash or assets in memory or in honor of someone special; and deferred gifts through bequests, life insurance, and charitable remainder trusts.
